The Sun Hat Sewing Class is perfect for you if you're able to sew your own garments but would like to learn excellent tips and tricks to making a sunhat.
This workshop will enable you to cut out and make up either a Stella or Himari Sun Hat - the patterns are supplied in this class.
To prepare for the workshop you'll need to purchase the following items
Himari Sun Hat by Nikki Dent Design - suitable intermediate beginner
Tulip shaped Himari Sun Hat has 6 topstitched segments and is fully lined. Have fun with the lining and topstitching for a pop of colour
Sizes included: S/62cm, M/66cm and L/69.5cm
Hat: light - medium weight fabrics including cotton, denim, linen or canvas x 40cm (112cm) or 30cm (140cm)
Lining: light weight woven cotton including shirting, poplin, lawn or voile x 30cm
Sweatband: cotton drill x 60cm
Interfacing (light-medium weight): 30cm
Interfacing: 10cm stretch interfacing optional for sweatband (cut interfacing on bias to achieve stretch interfacing)
Shapewell for brim only :(mid-heavy weight) x 20cm

Stella Sun Hat by Nikki Dent Design - suitable advanced beginner
The Stella Sun Hat is a fully lined hat with wide flexible brim. It features twin needle topstitching and a bound brim edge
Sizes included: S/60cm, M/62cm and L/64cm
Fabric suggestions/meterage:
Hat: light - medium weight fabrics including cotton, denim, linen or canvas x 70cm (112cm-140cm)
Sweatband: cotton drill x 60cm
Interfacing: 10cm stretch interfacing optional for sweatband (cut interfacing on bias to achieve stretch interfacing)
Lining: light weight woven cotton including shirting, poplin, lawn or voile x 40cm
Shapewell :(mid-heavy weight) x 60cm (optional if using light weight cotton for hat)

- Sewing Machine (Tessuti have sewing machines, there is no need to bring your own)
